Fostering

1. What qualifications do you need to become a foster carer?

You will recieve in house training covering all aspects of fostering and on going training throughout your fostering career and opportunities to gain NVQ in child care.

2. I am interested in fostering what is my next move?

Your next step would be to click on the link page and access the Newcastle City Council web site where you will find all relevant information

3. Do I have to give up my job to become a foster carer?

No. There are many different catagories of fostering ie: respite, day care, long-term, short-term care etc so giving up work is not always necessary.
